The day was quite warm, as the speckled brute panted heavily. His sides heaved in and out, as his white paws flattened the grass beneath them. Blue eyes scanned the area foreign to him. It was here the dog decided to rest, as he lay under a blooming, but shady tree. The grass on his belly made him ich, but he found if he lay still, it wasn't so bad. In fact, it was just like a bed. Well, not quite.

Eyes flicked to and fro, as the smell of sheep and other animals wafted his nose. Where am I? Zach wondered. This place was not like his old home, a breezy house on the beach. It was wide, and spacy, and govered with- grass. The stuff made his paws ich, along with his nose.

A little green bug lazily flew past Zach, it's wings making a buzzing sound in his ear. Zach such out his neck, trying to get a closer look, but inhaled pollen that was falling from the blooming tree he lay under. His nose itching, Zach sneezed irritatedly.

Closing his maw, Zach let out a sigh of relief as his head fell onto his paws. The shade was much cooler, especially with a coat as long as his. If only, if only, he sighed again.
